The true life story of Twain’s life is predicted to draw a record  on auction. A non-fiction release (Dogtown Books ) has been timed to coincide with the film’s 2027 release.

The director describes the project as “The gripping true story of a young writer from New Jersey and his  journey into the heart of America and the American West in search of his identity and his discovery of dark family secret. ‘

The film chronicles Twain’s decades long hard climb up a spiritual and psychological mountain and his travels in the deserts and Mountains and cities of California.

A self diagnosed neurodivergent Twain is an actor / musician / director / writer / publisher and the founder of Dog Mode Labs,

‘When I say that people think it sounds insane. But it’s how my brain works. It’s easier for me to do five things.”

“I’m not totally sure how I feel about the neurodivergent label. What does the label mean? It means what we want it mean.

Twain  says he use the last name Twain to honor American culture and grand literary tradition. 

“One of the things that happening in the 21st century,  is that as all of these cool and wonderful things are happening. We’re detaching from our roots and the things that make up our identity.”  

As a writer , the name matches the kind of long winding folksy Mississippi-like narratives  I write. It also matches my writing style, which has been described by some folks as Twain like and folksy, probably because of my background as a singer and a songwriter.  Believe you me, I use the name with the greatest reverence and humility, believe me I know I’m no Mark Twain.  

As a publisher, He thinks the symbolism is important. “Symbolism is important. By deleting our history. 

“The Twain name is one of the most esteemed in our literary canon and in American history.  In our rush to adopt new technologies, I think it’s important for us to not forget them what brung us. And there’s a lot of things what brung us that are being forgotten.””

‘If anybody objected of course,  I’d change it, but somehow  I don’t think they will. I’ve written to the Twain family for permission but have not yet heard back’ 

“As a musician it works with the kind of American roots music I grew up with and the kind of songs I sing.  It also works for the UK side which is important to me.

Here he slips into “Liverpool Beatle. There’s also a symbolism to it ya know,  “Twain” that catches my weird in stuck in limbo in the universe between identities. Never the Twain shall meet, ya know.” 

Twain says he stopped using the last name his parents gave him many years ago. 

“I always hated the word. I didn’t know why.  Now I do. It always felt like it was cursed.  And I suspect it may be, given the things that happened to people in my family. I tried to get away from it as fast as I could. It took me half a lifetime but I did.’

Drawing inspiration from the work of Steve Jobs and obsessed with the design of Apple products Twain migrated to San Francisco where he lived for seven years on the edge of the historic Tenderloin District.

 My business dealings in San Francisco had taught me the rules of the start up world. I decided to study the industry carefully from a distance before approaching as a . Knowing that I would likely be rejected and have my confidence shattered given my lack of so called.  

He decided to wage a one man guerrilla war. Using the strategies he had developed as a learned about studying.  I kept a low profile.  He spent thousands of hours writing and taking pictures.

but fundamentally.  I was too old. Too white. Too straight. I had no film school experience. I had no connections. 

“Here he just smiles and shakes his head. And that’s true. As far as I knew that was absolutely the case.

“We’re misusing technology and creating content that devalues our industry as a whole by flooding the market with not so much and meh and whatever the fuck that was that I just watched. I’m not sure that’s a good business decision.“

He refuses to use the word “content.” The word says everything about how we’re thinking. Words are powerful things. They should not be used lightly.  It’s the worst of the current buzzwords, because it has the least meaning, it’s literally word oatmeal and that’s probably an insult to oatmel”
